W&L men's swimming falls to Mary Washington, 167.5-94.5

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's swimming team was defeated by Mary Washington, 167.5-94.5, on Friday night.

David Ireland (Dayton, Ohio / Oakwood) and Matt Hesser (Midlothian, Va. / Governor's School) highlighted the meet with a first-place finish. Ireland placed first in the 200 breast (2:17.88), while Hesser placed first in the 200 back (1:59.29).

Tenten Babcock (Belmont, Mich. / Rockford) took second place in the 200 IM (2:04.03), while Christohper Myers (Essex, Conn. / Valley Regional) palced second in the 200 breast in a time of 2:19.88. Matt Kiser (Dunwoody, Ga. / Dunwoody) also placed second in the 100 free (48.96).

The 400 free relay team of Jake Burns (Greensboro, N.C. / Greensboro Day), John Womack (Glendale, Ariz. / Glendale Preparatory Academy), Kiser and Harris Pritchard (Houston, Texas / Memorial) placed second, touching the wall in a time of 3:17.66.
