LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee claimed all six of the contested matches in posting a 37-12 victory over Southern Virginia in wrestling action on Wednesday evening at Doremus Gymnasium.

Following a forfeit loss at 125 pounds, senior Sam Campbell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) got the Generals (1-6) started with a 4-0 victory over Southern Virginia (0-1) sophomore Josh Hall (Pocatello, Idaho/Highland) at 133 pounds.  First-year Conor Duffey (Boxford, Mass./Brooks School) gave W&L a 9-6 lead when he logged a pin over first-year Andrew Evans (Gahanna, Ohio/Lincoln) at 141 in 3:50, while SVU sophomore Sean Porter (Kaysville, Utah/Davis) knotted the score at 9-9 with a 3-2 decision over W&L sophomore H.T. Kotchinian (Lowell, Mass./Belmont Hill) at 149 pounds.

First-year Zan Reed (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) bounced back from an early deficit in his match at 157 to post a pin of SVU sophomore Jeremy Atkinson (Yuba City, Calif./Yuba City), and senior David Dennis (Sherman, W.Va./Ravenswood) made the score 21-9 with a fall (1:36) over first-year Rhett Honeycutt (Eastman, Va./Dodge County) at 165 pounds.

First-year Marino Orlandi (Stanton, N.J./Blair Academy) posted a 12-4 major decision over SVU first-year Michael Kilstrom (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) at 174 pounds and classmate Morgan Moskal (Roanoke, Va./North Cross) logged a win by fall (3:58) over first-year Caleb West (St. Albans, W.Va./St. Albans) for a 31-9 lead.

Both teams forfeited at 197 pounds and the Knights claimed a win by forfeit at 285 pounds for the final margin.

Washington and Lee will now break for finals before returning to action on December 18 in the Desert Duals in Las Vegas, Nev.
