LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team posted a 42-3 victory over Southern Virginia on Wednesday evening at the Warner Center.
The Generals (4-2) picked up forfeit wins in six weight classes and won two of the three matches that were contested.
At 141 pounds, sophomore Sam Brusca (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) downed SVU (0-2) junior Logan Davis (Puyallup, Wash./Puyallup) by a score of 5-4.
At 149 pounds, W&L senior Erick Gagne (Philadelphia, Pa./La Salle College) posted a 9-2 victory over SVU's Scott Allen, while at 165 pounds, SVU sophomore Peter Rose (Heber City, Utah/Wasatch) knocked off W&L senior Anthony Boniello (Katonah, N.Y./Somers), 8-4.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sat., Feb. 2 as it travels to Johns Hopkins for a 7:30 pm dual match.
