W&L Swimming Splits Tri-Meet At Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's swimming team split a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon, falling to Virginia Tech, 121-71, and defeating VMI, 156-48.

The Generals were led by senior Mike Ginder (Jacksonville, Fla./Episcopal), who took first in the 200 free with an NCAA "B" cut time of 1:42.09. Junior Tim McGlaston (Attleboro, Mass./Attleboro) also registered a "B" cut time with his first-place finish in the 50 free in a time of 21.02.

McGlaston and Ginder also competed on the winning 200 free relay team that also included senior Dave Croushore (Glen Allen, Va./North Penn) and junior Alex Sweet (Louisville, Ky./Kentucky Country Day). The relay finished with a "B" cut time of 1:24.01.

W&L returns to action Feb. 15-17 at the 2007 Bluegrass Mountain Championships in Charlotte, N.C.
