W&L Wrestling Defeats SVU Knights, 48-6

BUENA VISTA, Va. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team defeated Route 60-rival Southern Virginia, 48-6, in a dual meet on Wednesday evening.

Junior David Shubick (Bound Brook, N.J./Bound Brook), junior Kirk Adamson (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) and sophomore John Christopher (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./Cardinal Gibbons) all recorded pins in the meet. Shubick, competing at 133 pounds, defeated Brandon Flood (3:15), while Adamson pinned Adam Welker (4:48) in the 197-pound bout. Christopher took the heavyweight match with a pin of Steve Homolya in a time of 1:00.

The Generals return to the mat on Saturday when they host Johns Hopkins at 2 pm.
