BUENA VISTA, Va. -- The Washington and Lee wrestling team defeated Southern Virginia, 45-18, on Wednesday evening in Buena Vista, Va.
The Generals (3-1) won seven of the nine matches, including two by pin. W&L sophomore Max Courtney (Jeffersonville, Pa./LaSalle College) won his 184-pound match by a pin (4:02), while freshman Kirk Adamson(Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) pinned Steve Hamolia in 2:33 in a 285-pound match.
Southern Virginia (0-3) earned one of its win also via a pin when Brandon Flood pinned freshman Tim Heisterhagen (Centerville, Md./Queen Anne's) in 5:08 in a 125-pound match.
The Generals return to the mat on Saturday at the Apprentice School. The meet begins at 10:00 am.
