BRYN MAWR, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee women's swimming team emerged with a pair of victories from the Bryn Mawr tri-meet on Sunday. The Generals (6-2) defeated Bryn Mawr, 107-97, and bested Arcadia, 169-33.
Senior Mandi Kimble (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day School), sophomore Kristine Holda (Strongsville, Ohio/Strongsville) and freshman Abbie Sauter (Darien, Conn./Darien) all recorded individual event wins for W&L. Kimble won the 500 Free (5:42.79), Holda took top honors in the 100 Free (56.10) and Sauter hit the wall first in the 100 Breast (1:13.77).
Kimble and Holda also teamed with junior Laura Westerman (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) and senior Jackie Green (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) for a first-place time of 8:37.70 in the 800 Free Relay.
Both the W&L men's and women's swimming teams return to action on Fri., Dec. 5. The women will compete at the Randolph-Macon Invitational while the Generals' men's squad will travel to the Franklin & Marshall Invitational.
