W&L Swimming In Action At Dickinson

CARLISLE, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee men's and women's swimming teams split a pair of decisions at Dickinson on Saturday. The men defeated the Red Devils 119-86, while the women fell to Dickinson 160-45.

On the men's side sophomore Clark Barrineau (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg) and senior Eric Ritter (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) led the Generals (4-0) with a pair of wins each.

Barrineau won the 1000 Free (10:27.45) and the 500 Free (5:05.71), while Ritter hit the wall first in the 200 Free (1:51.08) and the 100 Back (55.55). Ritter also teamed with senior Drew Catanese (Southampton, Mass./Suffield Academy), sophomore Reed Evans (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day) and freshman Michael Ginder (Jacksonville, Fla./Episcopal) for a first place time of 1:30.21 in the 200 Free Relay.

The W&L women (4-2) return to action on Sunday when they travel to Bryn Mawr. Meet time is 1:00 p.m.
