W&L Women’s Swimming Defeats Bryn Mawr, 119-77

BRYN MAWR, Pa. -- The Washington and Lee women's swimming team improved to 5-1 on the season with a 119-77 win over Bryn Mawr on Saturday afternoon in Bryn Mawr, Pa.

The Generals were led by senior Blair Huffman (Roanoke, Va./North Cross), who won the 200 IM (2:20.61) and 500 free (5:39.31) events.

Sophomore Laura Westerman (Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) chipped in with a win in the 100 free with a time of 1:00.43. She was also part of the W&L 200 medley relay team which took first place with a time of 2:05.62. Westerman was joined on the relay team by junior Amanda Kimball (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day School), senior Jen Fallon (Boerne, Texas/Boerne) and senior Kelli Austin (Niles, Mich/Niles).

Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday as both the men's and women's teams swim at the College of New Jersey at 11:00 am.
