LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's and women's swimming teams were both in action on Friday evening and both came away with victories at the Cy Twombly Pool. The women were victorious over Radford, 143-59, while the men defeated VMI, 126-78.
The women were led by senior Katie Kennedy (Delran, N.J./Delran) who was swimming in her final meet as a General. Kennedy captured wins in the 200 IM (2:19.24) and the 100 Breast (1:10.51). She was the only W&L swimmer to capture two victories.
On the men's side, junior Patrick Frankfort (Lynchburg, Va./E.C. Glass) posted victories in the 1000 Free (10:59.80) and the 500 Free (5:07.57). Like Kennedy, Frankfort was the only W&L swimmer to win two events.
The W&L women are now 6-2 on the season, while the men improved to 2-2.
The Generals will return to action on January 12, when they travel to Catholic at 2:00 pm.
