LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee men's and women's swim teams notched victories over Buffalo State on Friday evening in Lexington, Va. The men's squad defeated the Bengals, 119-65, while the women's team picked up a 110-49 triumph.
The W&L men (5-1) were led by freshman Colin Mitchell (Alberta, Canada/Springbank), who took home victories in the 100 Backstroke (58.29) and the 200 Freestyle (1:51.89).
Sophomore Kelli Austin (Niles, Mich./Niles) posted three individual wins to lead the Washington and Lee women (3-4). She placed first in the 50 (27.11), 100 (58.49) and 200 (2:03.75) Freestyle events.
Sophomore Michelle Moore (Houston, Texas/St. Agnes Academy) finished first in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:07.43.
The Buffalo State men's squad fell to 0-5 overall, while the women dropped to 0-6.
Both W&L squads will be back in action tomorrow afternoon as they host Catholic University. Meet time is set to begin at 2:00 pm.
