
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 185 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) recently announced its 2012 Division III Scholar All-Americans and Washington and Lee University had two student-athletes honored.

Washington and Lee senior wrestlers Sam Campbell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) and David Dennis (Sherman, W.Va./Ravenswood) were both honored by the Centennial Conference on Wednesday afternoon.
