The College Sports Information Directors of America released its 2010 ESPN The Magazine men’s and women’s academic all-district at-large teams on Thursday morning and Washington and Lee placed four athletes on the first or second teams for the District III College Division.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee University has claimed the 2010 Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the seventh-straight year.

Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 18 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer/track & field athlete Maggie Sutherland (Pittsburgh, Pa./Sewickley Academy) and senior basketball/track & field athlete Ben Goetsch (Timonium, Md./Gilman), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

Washington and Lee University has announced its 23rd class to be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The class includes former basketball coach Verne Canfield, former lacrosse player Don Carroll ’76, former football, lacrosse and wrestling athlete Robert Hull ’96, and former soccer, lacrosse and basketball player Karin Treese Bauer ’99.

The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its 2009-2010 Division III Scholar All-Americans on Thursday and Washington and Lee University had three student-athletes honored.
