About the Course
Winding through the hilly woods west of the campus, Washington and Lee's newly dedicated Dick Miller Cross Country Course features two demanding courses, which offer many challenges for both men and women. Both courses, 8,000 meters for the men and 5,000 meters for the women, are entirely on natural surfaces except for road crossings.
Both courses start on the playing fields above Wilson Field near the W&L Turf Field. Portions of the course pass by the Liberty Hall Ruins, which are a trademark from the University's earliest years when it was known as Liberty Hall Academy.
The men's and women's courses descend quickly from the playing fields down to the Maury River, climb back up to the field and descend again to the river before climbing up once more to finish near the turf field.
