Established: 1954
Awarded To: One male senior athlete and one female senior athlete
Description: Presented annually to the most outstanding and most valuable senior male athlete and senior female athlete. It is awarded to the athlete who excels in sportsmanship and contributes the most to athletics based on his or her overall performance and proficiency during his or her college career.

WILLIAM D. McHENRY SCHOLAR-ATHLETE AWARD (View the all-time recipients of this award)
Established: 1986
Awarded To: A senior athlete
Description: Presented annually to a student-athlete who has excelled in both the classroom and the field of play. Awardee must have a cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.5 and must have made outstanding contributions to intercollegiate athletics at W&L.

OUTSTANDING FIRST-YEAR ATHLETE AWARD (View the all-time recipients of this award)
Established: 1960
Awarded To: One freshman male and one freshman female athlete
Description: Presented annually to a male and female showing the most athletic ability through his or her participation in varsity and/or freshman sports. Attitude, spirit and sportsmanship are emphasized in selecting the recipient.

Awarded To: A senior athlete
Description: Presented annually to the W&L senior who has demonstrated the highest qualities of true W&L spirit and sportsmanship.

Awarded To: A W&L student
Description: Presented to a student (non-playing) who has served W&L teams as an outstanding volunteer and contributed to the success of those teams.

Awarded To: A member of the University community
Description: Presented annually to the individual within the University community who has made outstanding contributions to the department of athletics and physical education.
