EMORY, Va. — Junior outside hitter Meg Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) had nine kills and first-year middle blocker Courtney Berry (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) totaled eight blocks to lead the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over Brevard on Saturday in a neutral-site contest at Emory & Henry.
The Generals (11-1) won the first set, 25-15, and then claimed the second and third sets by identical scores of 25-14 to claim the match over the Tornados (3-2).
Guignon also added five digs to her nine kills and Berry had three kills. Senior defensive specialist Katie Volk (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) notched a team-high 12 digs. Senior Elena West (Roanoke, Va./Northside) and sophomore Mollie Ray (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) split the setting duties for the Blue and White. West had 14 assists and five digs, while Ray recorded 11 assists and four digs.
The victory extended the Generals' winning streak to 10. Full statistics were not immediately available after the match.
W&L heads back into ODAC play on Wednesday, when it plays at Randolph at 7:00 pm.
