Schleusner Earns D3hoops.com Team of the Week Honors

LEXINGTON, Va. - Senior Mary Schleusner of the Washington and Lee University women's basketball was selected to the first edition of the D3hoops.com Team of the Week this season, the organization announced on Tuesday morning. 

Schleusner helped the sixth-ranked Generals to five straight wins to open the 2025-26 campaign, averaging 20.0 points and 15.6 rebounds per game, along with four double-doubles. She also tallied 11 steals, 11 blocks, and 23 assists over the first two weekends of play. Schleusner opened the season with a dominant 35-point, 26-rebound performance in a 78-77 win over Allegheny, adding five steals, six assists, and two blocks. She followed that up with 24 points and 17 boards on 10-of-14 shooting the next day in a win over Chatham.


This week, Schleusner helped the Blue and White secure three more wins, including the TowneBank Tip-Off Title. She recorded 10 points and 16 rebounds in a 71-38 victory over Southern Virginia, then added 17 points and 11 rebounds in a win against Washington College (Md.). She capped off the weekend with 14 points and eight rebounds in just 10 minutes of action against Virginia Wesleyan, also contributing a steal and three assists.


The Generals are back in action this weekend as they kick off Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play at Holekamp Gym as they welcome the University of Lynchburg for a 1 p.m. tip off.
