LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Monday that 973 teams have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 season, and Washington and Lee was one of the 173 Division III teams honored.
The total number of squads receiving the recognition this year surpasses the previous year's total of 822 and sets a new all-time high for this award.
The Generals concluded the 2017 season with a 24-10 overall record with a 10-1 mark in the ODAC. W&L fell to Randolph-Macon by a 3-2 set score in the ODAC Championship match.
