LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee athletics department has announced its plans to give the fans an inside look at several athletic programs throughout the year through a blog entitled “The Season”.
“The Season” is an inside look at a program for one full season through the eyes of its players and coaches. Content will include written works by the players and coaches, along with behind the scenes video that profiles such things as a day in the life of a W&L athlete, coaches mic’d up for practices and games, road trips and team activities.
Washington and Lee’s first “The Season” installment begins this fall with a profile of the W&L volleyball team coming off a 26-10 season in 2012 that resulted in the program’s 11th ODAC Championship in the last 15 years.
“I am very excited that our program is going to be the focus of the first installment of ‘The Season’, said Head Volleyball Coach Bryan Snyder. “This is a great opportunity for our fans, alumni, recruits and parents to get a closer look at what we do on a day-to-day and week-to-week basis, and to see why all of our players and coaches are so enthusiastic about the experience that we share. I think this will be an enjoyable experience for our student-athletes and will allow them to reflect on the ups and downs of our season as they are preparing the content for ‘The Season’, something that they often don’t take the time to do because of their busy schedules.”
Washington and Lee volleyball “The Season” will begin with preseason thoughts by senior setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va. / Mills Godwin) on August 20. To begin following “The Season” simply visit the website at http://theseasonwluvb.wordpress.com/.
