Senior M.A. Boles Receives AVCA All-Region Honor

LEXINGTON, Ky. — The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2013 Division III All-Region teams on Thursday, and Washington and lee senior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) made the South All-Region squad.

Boles, a 2010 and 2011 Honorable Mention All-South Region selection, leads the Generals (28-6) and the ODAC with 407 kills. In the conference leaders, she is also second in kills per set (3.54), 10th in digs (356) and 14th in service aces (38).

Earlier this season, Boles broke the W&L and ODAC career kills records and now has 1,706 in her four years. Along with the career kills record at W&L, Boles is first in total attacks (4,820), fourth in sets played (469), seventh in digs (1,409) and seventh in service aces (170).

On Tuesday, Boles garnered the ODAC Player of the Year award for the second time in her career, and was named First Team All-ODAC for the fourth time. She also received Capital One Academic All-District Accolades earlier this year.

Boles helped lead W&L to a 3-0 victory over Lynchburg in the ODAC Championship on Saturday to secure the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Generals will play Berry in the first round on Friday at 5:30 pm in Atlanta, Ga.
