W&L Volleyball Downs Salem, 3-0

BRIDGEWATER, Va. — First-year middle blocker Elizabeth Hollander (Haverford, Pa./Agnes Irwin School) and senior outside hitter Allison Rouse (Troy, Mich./Tory) led the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a sweep, 3-0, over Salem in a neutral-site match at Bridgewater on Saturday.

The Generals (20-6) made quick work of the Spirits (6-12) winning, 25-12, 25-7, 25-8. W&L hit .365 as a team with 34 kills and only three errors on 85 total attempts.

Hollander recorded a season-high 10 kills on a .667 hitting percentage and did not record an error. Rouse tallied 10 kills on 19 attempts (.526) with four service aces.

Sophomore defensive specialist Kasey Cannon (North Wales, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph Academy) led the team with 13 digs and added four kills. Sophomore outside hitter Mansie Hough (St. Petersburg, Fla./Canterbury School) notched 10 digs and five kills.

Sophomore setter Alex Kinzer (Greenville, S.C./Eastside) distributed the ball on offense with 25 assists. She also had three service aces and six digs. First-year defensive specialist Maddy Cutler (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) registered a match-high five service aces and had six digs.

The Generals return to ODAC play on Tuesday when they play at Randolph at 7:00 pm.
