W&L Volleyball Sweeps Transylvania, 3-0

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Behind 13 kills from sophomore outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) and 11 kills from senior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's), the Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Transylvania, 3-0, on Saturday.

The Generals (17-5) edged the Pioneers (15-10) in the first set, 29-27, and then cruised in the second, 25-17, and the third, 25-28, to win the match.

Lausberg generated her 13 kills on 34 attempts with five errors (.235). Boles added a season-high 18 digs to her 11 kills. Sophomore right side Maddie Kosar (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) notched eight kills on 23 attempts with five digs.

Senior Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) recorded a match-high 33 assists and had 12 digs. Junior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) registered 11 digs and two service aces.

Senior middle blocker Meghan Bowers led Transylvania with 10 kills on 19 attempts (.421). Sophomore outside hitter Audrey Brown tallied a match-high 21 digs.

The Generals return to action on Wednesday for their Senior Night against Roanoke at 6:30 pm.
