Generals Serve Up a 3-0 Victory Over SVU

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team served up a 3-0 victory over Southern Virginia on Saturday at the W&L Invitational. The Generals (6-1) notched 13 aces on their way to a 25-14, 25-21, 25-17 victory.

Senior setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) led the team with five aces. She also had 31 assists and seven digs. Junior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) was second with three aces. She also tallied nine digs. Sophomore defensive specialist Mansie Hough (St. Petersburg, Fla./Canterbury School) and senior outside hitter Allison Rouse (Troy, Mich./Troy) each had two.

Senior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) totaled a match-high nine kills and had 15 digs. Sophomore outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) and Rouse each added eight.

First-year libero April Bennett (Kaysville, Utah/Davis) controlled the back row for the Knights (1-2) with 25 digs. Senior outside hitter Shyanne Ison (Mt. Pleasant, Utah/North Sanpete) and senior middle blocker Tori Tuttle (Anahola, Hawaii/Kapa's) tied for the team lead with seven kills.

The Generals played fifth-ranked Christopher Newport later on Saturday.
