W&L Volleyball Downs Maryville, 3-0

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Generals' volleyball team finished the weekend undefeated with a 3-0 victory over Maryville on Saturday to improve to 4-0 on the year.

The Blue and White took the first set, 25-21, the second, 25-15 and the third, 25-19. W&L spread the ball on offense with four players recording at least seven kills. Senior outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) led the team with nine kills. She also added seven digs.

Sophomore outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) totaled seven kills, sophomore right side Maddie Kosar (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Gilmour Academy) tallied seven kills and 11 digs and first-year middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline) notched eight kills in just 14 attempts.

Senior Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) and sophomore Alex Kinzer (Greenville, S.C./Eastside) split the setting duties. Meleski totaled 16 assists, along with four service aces and four digs. Kinzer added 13 assists. Junior defensive specialist Kelly McManus (Osprey, Fla./Pine View) led the back line with 10 digs. She also had two aces. Senior outside hitter Allison Rouse (Troy, Mich./Troy) had six digs.

Junior middle blocker Kelsey Handel led the Scots (0-3) with nine kills on 18 attempts and junior defensive specialist Morgan Hall totaled 14 digs.

The Generals return home next weekend when they host the W&L Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
