Snyder Notches 350th Career Victory at W&L in 3-1 Win Over VWC
LEXINGTON, Va. — In his 444th match coaching the Washington and Lee volleyball team, head coach Bryan Snyder picked up his 350th victory at the helm of the program in Saturday's 3-1 home win over Virginia Wesleyan. Now in his 13th season, Snyder has a .789 (350-94) career winning percentage at W&L.
The 25-18, 25-27, 25-17, 25-20 victory did not come easy for Snyder and the Generals, (10-4, 5-0 ODAC) but with junior outside hitter M.A. Boles' (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) double-double, the team remained unbeaten in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. The Marlins dropped to 12-3 overall and 4-1 in the league.
For the third-straight match, Boles recorded double-digit kills and digs. She had a match-high 14 kills, hit .316 on 38 attempts and tallied 12 digs. She also added three aces, three assists and two total blocks. Sophomore middle blocker Katie Toomb (Lebanon, Ore/Lebanon) had double-digit kills for the second-straight match with 10, and led the team with five total blocks.
Senior middle hitter Taylor Allen (Bowie, Md./Elizabeth Seton) led VWC with 12 kills, while junior outside hitter Tempe Martens (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) contributed 11 kills.
W&L hit .324 as a team on 111 attempts, which marked the second-straight contest the team hit exactly .324.
The Generals hosted Mary Baldwin later on Saturday.
