ATLANTA, Ga. – Second-ranked Emory University swept the Washington and Lee volleyball team, 3-0, in W&L's second match of the Emory National Invitational on Friday evening at the Woodruff P.E. Center.
The Generals (25-5) fell 25-15, 25-14, 25-15 as the Eagles improved to 30-2 with the win.
First-year middle blocker Katie Toomb (Lebanon, Ore./Lebanon) and senior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) led W&L with five kills apiece. Sophomore outside hitter Alison Rouse (Troy, Mich./Troy) and senior outside hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) each added four kills.
Sophomore outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) had a team-high 12 digs and junior libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) added 11.
Sophomore setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) paced the Generals with 16 assists.
W&L will resume play on Saturday at 1:00 pm when it takes on Lee.
