SALEM, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team defeated Southern Virginia 3-0 in its first match on day two of the Maroon Classic hosted by Roanoke College on Saturday afternoon.
Facing the Knights for the second time this season, W&L (21-2) prevailed 25-23, 25-21, 25-14.
Three different Generals reached the double-digit threshold in kills as seniors Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) and Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) and sophomore M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) all recorded 10 kills.
Junior libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) led the defense with 13 digs and added three service aces, while Boles chipped in eight digs and three blocks. Dee had four blocks for the Blue and White.
Sophomore setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) had 32 assists and a pair of blocks. The 32 assists for Meleski give her 1,402 for her career and she now resides in 10th place all-time at W&L.
The Generals will finish play at the Maroon Classic when they take on Ferrum at 2:00 pm.
