DELAWARE, Ohio — Washington and Lee women's track and field senior Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) broke her own school record in the triple jump on Thursday at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
Lee won the event with a leap of 11.65m (38'2.75") on her third of six attempts. It eclipsed her previous mark of 11.19m (36'8.50"), which she set on April 18, 2015. The mark of 11.65m is currently the 23rd-best in Division III this season. The Top 22 declared student-athletes in the event will compete at the National Championship.
In the long jump, Lee took eighth with a mark of 5.24m (17'2.25"). Senior Lizzy Stanton (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South) placed seventh in the pole vault at 3.53m (11'7.00").
This was the final meet on the Generals' schedule before the NCAA Championship. The Blue and White will now wait for the official announcement on Saturday from the NCAA to find out if anyone will compete at the National Championship on May 25-27 at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
