W&L Women's Track & Field Competes at Liberty Twilight Qualifier

LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team had eight compete at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday.

The Generals had four competitors in the Top 18 in the 5,000m. First-year Katie Bearup (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) led the quartet with an eighth-place finish (18:51.34). First-year Julia Moody (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) took 11th in 19:03.50, first-year Ellie Bradach (Roswell, Ga./Wesleyan) was 17th (19:54.58) and sophomore Bailey Sanders (Powell, Wyo./Powell) claimed 18th (19:56.54).

In the 400m hurdles, junior Kaleigh Hinton (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park) finished seventh with a time of 1:05.67. Senior Ali Peacock (Libertyville, Ill./Vernon Hills) was ninth in 1:07.50.

Junior Lily Arnold (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) registered a new career-best in the 800m with a time of 2:18.30. Senior Lizzy Stanton (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South) tied for third in the pole vault at 3.36m (11'00.25").  

The Generals next compete at the SWAT Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore on May 15.
