LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team won three more events on day two of the W&L Carnival on Saturday.
Senior Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) claimed two wins. She was first in the 200m with a time of 25.74, and she secured the top spot in the triple jump with a leap of 11.07m (36'4.00"). First-year Alexa Castellana (Boonton, N.J./Mountain Lakes) took second in the event at 10.41m (34'2.00").
Senior Ali Peacock (Libertyville, Ill./Vernon Hills) led a trio of Generals' runners in the 400m hurdles. Peacock crossed the finish line first in 1:06.03. Junior Kaleigh Hinton (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park) placed second in 1:07.17, and first-year Nikki Doherty (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic) was third (1:11.96). Peacock was also fifth in the 100m in 12.94.
In the 400m, senior Kara Farroni (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) took second with a time of 1:01.85. Senior Catherine Fonvielle (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) finished third in the 800m (2:19.05), and senior Lizzy Stanton (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South) was second in the pole vault at 3.34m (10'11.50").
The Generals return to action next Saturday at the Jack Toms Invitational hosted by Lynchburg.
