W&L Women's Track & Field to Offer a Free Clinic to Local Girls

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's track & field program will be hosting its "Run Like a Girl" community event on Sunday, February 9 from 1:15-3 pm at the Warner Center.

The event is a free clinic for girls in grades K-5 with the intention of providing education about basic running and jumping mechanics, along with nutrition, stretching, hydration and recovery so that they can properly utilize running to increase self-esteem, develop the ability to work with others and boost fitness levels.  Free T-shirts and snacks will be provided.

Information about the event can be found at the local elementary schools and registration will be held at the Warner Center from 1:15 – 1:30.  You can also pre-register by downloading the form and returning it to Kristin Cupido at cupidok@wlu.edu.
