Lee Sets W&L Women's T&F Long Jump Record at Liberty Twilight
LYNCHBURG, Va. — At the Liberty Twilight on Thursday, first-year Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) broke her own school record in the long jump to lead the Washington and Lee women's track and field team.
Lee finished second in the event at 5.73m (18'09.75"), and was the top collegiate competitor. The previous W&L record was 5.64m (18'06.00") set by Lee earlier this year. The mark of 5.73m is the fifth-best in Division III this season.
In the pole vault, first-year Lizzy Stanton (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South) tied for fourth and was the top D-III competitor with a leap of 3.40m (11'01.75"). Senior Leigh Dannhauser (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) was the top Division-III athlete and placed sixth overall in the high jump at 1.50m (4'11.00").
