RADFORD, Va. — At the Highlander Invitational hosted by Radford on Saturday, first-year Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) broke the Washington and Lee women's track and field 100m record.
Competing against Division I, II and III athletes, Lee finished sixth overall and was the top D-III performer with a time of 12.63. It topped the previous W&L record of 12.65 set by Marissa Thompson '13 in 2010.
Lee also took third overall and was the top Division III competitor in the long jump with a leap of 5.23m (17'02.00"). She placed second overall (first in D-III) in the triple jump at 10.82m (35'06.00").
In the pole vault, first-year Lizzy Stanton (Papillion, Neb./Papillion-LaVista South) eclipsed 3.51m (11'06.25") to take the top spot out of eight competitors. It tied her collegiate best. Senior Leigh Dannhauser (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) claimed third overall and was the top Division III athlete in the high jump at 1.53m (5'00.25").
The Generals next compete at the Liberty Twilight on Wednesday, starting at 1:00 pm.
