
KENT, Ohio – The Washington and Lee women's track & field team was in action on Saturday against Division I, II and III competition at the Kent State Tune-up.
The Generals' top showing on the day was a sixth-place finish out of 51 runners in the 800 meters by senior Annelise Madison (Roca, Neb. / Norris), who crossed the line in 2:19.15. Her finish was also second-best among Division III runners in the event.
First-year Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn. / St. Cecilia Academy) notched an eighth-place finish out of 28 competitors in the long jump, covering 5.11 meters. Lee also recorded an 18th-place finish out of 67 runners in the 200 meters with a time of 26.57.
Junior Janey Fugate (Atlanta, Ga. / Whitefield Academy) notched a 19th-place finish out of 58 runners in the 400 meters (1:01.25), while senior Leigh Dannhauser (Bronxville, N.Y. / Bronxville) tied for second in the unseeded high jump with a leap of 1.55 meters.
Washington and Lee will return to action next Sunday when it competes in the ODAC Championships in Hampton, Va. Action is set to begin at 12:00 pm.
