FOREST, Va. – The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its athletes of the week for the week ending January 14 and two Washington and Lee runners were honored.
Sophomore Janey Fugate (Atlanta, Ga./Whitefield Academy) was named the ODAC Indoor Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week, while junior Agustin Kim (La Habra, Calif./Troy) was selected as the Men's Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
Fugate helped lead the women's team to a third-place finish at the Marietta Ice Breaker on Saturday by winning a pair of events and setting one school record. She crossed the tape first in the 500 meters with a new record time of 1:21.75 and then won the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 9.51 seconds.
Kim also helped guide the men's team to a third-place finish at Marietta, winning two events himself. He crossed the finish line first in the 55 meters (6.61) and won the 200 meters with a time of 23.56.
Washington and Lee returns to action on January 26 at 1:00 pm when it travels to the Denison Invitational.
