W&L Women's Tennis Doubles Team of Fleenor and Hassell Ranked Nationally

TEMPE, Ariz. – Oracle and the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the first Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Division III National Singles and Doubles rankings of the 2017-18 season on Wednesday, and the Washington and Lee women's tennis team had a doubles team ranked.

The duo of senior Michelle Fleenor (Chattanooga, Tenn. / Girls Preparatory School) and sophomore Lauren Hassell (Mendham, N.J. / West Morris Mendham) are ranked 16th in the Division III National doubles ranking. The pair went 3-1 overall during the fall season and made it to the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Regional Championship, before falling to the fifth-ranked pair from Carnegie-Mellon, Vinaya Rao and Melissa Storme.

Eudice Chong and Victoria Yu of Wesleyan are the top ranked doubles team. Emory's Bridget Harding and Ysabel Gonzalez-Rico are ranked second, while Kate Daugherty and Esther Bowers of Southwestern round out the Top 3.

The Generals begin the spring season on February 17, when they host Virginia Wesleyan at a time to be determined.
