CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Washington and Lee senior Brooke Donnelly (Kennesaw, Ga. / Marietta) and sophomore Tessa Hill (Canton, Ohio / Jackson) were both in action on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Singles & Doubles Championship hosted by Sewanee at The Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In singles action, Donnelly knocked off Nancy Benda of Hope in the first round by a score of 6-0, 6-3. She then defeated Bowdoin's Tess Trinka, 6-0, 6-7, 6-2 in the second round. She will now move onto the quarterfinals.
In doubles, the tandem of Donnelly and Hill suffered a first round defeat to Hannah Atkinson and Chloe Henderson of Williams by a score of 6-1, 6-4. They finished the year with a 14-5 record.
Donnelly will face Bridget Harding of Emory in the quarterfinals on Friday at 9:00 am at The Champions Club.
