W&L Women's Tennis Takes Sixth at ITA Indoor Championships
GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Washington and Lee women's tennis team ended its competition at the 2013 ITA Division III Women's Team Indoor Championship in sixth place after falling to host DePauw, 8-1, on Saturday evening.
The Generals claimed their only win in doubles action, where the No. 2 team of sophomores Sonja Meighan (McLean, Va./Flint Hill) and Patricia Kirkland (Charleston, S.C./Ashley Hall) defeated the Tigers' duo of Caroline Emhardt and Maggie MacPhail, 8-4.
W&L returns to action on Sunday, when it travels to Sweet Briar for a 1:00 pm match.
