Four Generals to Participate in NCAA Tennis Singles Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced its Division III men's and women's singles & doubles championship fields and Washington and Lee has had several individuals selected to compete.

For the W&L women, junior Ellen Yeatman (Little Rock, Ark./Little Rock Central) has been selected to participate in the 32-player NCAA Singles Championship, while the tandem of juniors Lauren Lukas (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) and Trelsie Sadler (Wakefield, R.I./Groton School) have been tabbed to compete in the 16-team Doubles Championship.  For the W&L men, sophomore Hayden White (Baltimore, Md./Towson) was picked to compete in the Singles Championship.

Yeatman earned First Team All-ODAC honors in both singles and doubles during the 2011 season. She enters the NCAA Tournament with a 5-9 singles record and a 13-4 doubles mark.

Lukas and Sadler earned All-America honors in doubles during the fall after placing sixth in the ITA National Championships.  Both were named First Team All-ODAC in singles and doubles during the 2011 campaign and together they are 15-9 in doubles.  Overall, Lukas is 10-8 in singles and 16-11 in doubles. Sadler has logged a 13-6 singles ledger and a 17-10 doubles mark.

White will compete in the 32-person NCAA Singles Championship for the second consecutive season after garnering First Team All-ODAC laurels in both singles and doubles.  An All-American last year, White enters the NCAA Tournament with an 18-4 singles record and a 20-3 doubles mark.

The 2011 NCAA Division III Singles and Doubles Championships will be held on May 27-29 at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Claremont, Calif.
