LEXINGTON, Va. – D3Soccer.com released its weekly women's soccer Top 25 poll on Tuesday and Washington and Lee was picked 25th in the Division III poll.
On the strength of an eight-game winning streak and a 6-0 conference record, the Generals received 58 points and jumped into the Top 25 after receiving votes for four consecutive weeks. W&L currently stands at 10-1-0 overall, with its only loss coming to No. 13 Rowan.
The Generals have shutout seven of their opponents this season and are outscoring them 34-5.
Junior midfielder Holley Beasley (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy), a 2013 ODAC Player of the Week, currently leads the team in goals (6) and points (17). Junior Haley Ward (Federal Way, Wash./Federal Way) is second in points with 12 and ranks first in assists with six. Beasley's point and assist totals rank third in the ODAC, while Ward ranks second in assists.
Sophomore keeper Addie Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove) takes the ODAC's top spot in shutouts (5) and ranks second in goals-against average (0.43). Healy's goals-against average is good for 21st in the nation. Senior goalie Kingsley Schroeder (Dayton, Ohio/Westminster School/Miami Valley) has made an appearance in three games this season, making four saves and allowing only one goal.
The Generals return to the field Tuesday when they host Emory & Henry at 4:00 pm.
