Two Generals Named to Women's Soccer All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced its 2012 Division III All-South Atlantic Region selections and the Washington and Lee women's soccer team had two players recognized.

Sophomore Katie Rossi (Wyoming, Del./Caesar Rodney) earned first team honors and sophomore Taylor DeVoe (Landenberg, Pa./Kennett) garnered second team accolades.

A midfielder, Rossi registered five goals and six assists for 16 points in starting all 18 games this season. She also helped the defense record just a 0.59 goals-against average and 10 shutouts en route to collecting First Team All-ODAC laurels.

DeVoe earned all-region honors for the first time after leading the defensive third this year. The Generals finished second in the league in goals allowed with 11, and also were third in goals-against average (0.59) and shutouts (10). A first team all-conference selection, DeVoe started all 17 games she appeared in and notched her first career points on a penalty kick goal in a 6-0 win over Guilford on October 16.

W&L concluded the 2012 campaign with a 14-3-1 overall record, after falling to Shenandoah, 3-2, in double-overtime in the quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament.
