ASHLAND, Va. – Sophomore forward Katherine Rush (Cornelius, N.C./Providence Day School) scored in the 51st minute to lead the Washington and Lee women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first half, Rush netted the game-winning goal off a feed from sophomore midfielder Katie Rossi (Wyoming, Del./Caesar Rodney) at the 50:20 mark to give the Generals the 1-0 victory.
W&L (13-2-1, 9-1-1 ODAC) outshot R-MC (8-6, 7-3 ODAC) by a margin of 10-7.
In net for the Blue and White was first-year Addie Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove), who registered three saves in 90:00. Briana Housekeeper spent the entire game in goal for the Yellow Jackets, collecting four saves and one goal-against.
The Generals return to action on Wednesday, when they host Sweet Briar for a 4:00 pm contest.
