GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) released its 2014 Academic Honor Roll on Tuesday and two Generals were among those recognized.
Recent graduates Kingsley Schroeder (Dayton, Ohio / Westminster School / Miami Valley) and Greta Witter (Houston, Texas / The Hill School) were two of the 363 student-athletes from 126 different institutions that were honored.
Schroeder and Witter both graduated from Washington and Lee in May, Schroeder with a degree in psychology and Witter with a degree in economics.
Schroeder joined the team as a senior and played in four games for the Generals, totaling a 2.39 goals-against average. Witter saw action in 19 games during the 2014 season and had 42 goals and 18 assists for 60 points. She finished her career with 65 goals and 28 assists for 93 points.
W&L ended its 2014 season with 17-3 overall record after falling to The College of New Jersey, 13-7, in the third round of the NCAA Division III tournament. The Generals also claimed the program's 15th ODAC Championship this spring.
