Brewster and Stone Earn IWLCA All-Region Honors

GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) announced its 2013 All-Chesapeake Region honorees and Washington and Lee had two players recognized. 

Junior defender Leanne Stone (Darien, Conn./Darien) garnered first team honors and junior midfielder Meade Brewster (Brookside, N.J./West Morris Mendham) was tabbed to the second team.

Stone paced a defense that recorded an 8.58 goals-against average en route to earning her second all-region accolades. In 18 contests, she collected a team-best 53 ground balls and added 22 caused turnovers. 

Brewster registered 36 goals and six assists for 40 points in 18 appearances. Her 69 draw controls currently lead the Generals, and she also tallied 34 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.

The Generals earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament following an 11-8 victory over Shenandoah in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship game. They will travel to No. 9 York (Pa.) on Wednesday for a 3:00 pm contest in first round action.
