W&L's Freed Finishes Tied for 18th at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship

HOUSTON, Texas – Washington and Lee sophomore Liza Freed (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) finished in a tie for 18th-place out of 109 golfers at the NCAA Division III Championship held at the Bay Oaks Country Club.

Freed had risen into a tie for 15th after nine holes on Friday, but the round was called due to weather and the third round results became the official tally.

Caroline Ordian of The Redlands claimed the individual championship with a 73-70-75—218 (+2).  Freed finished 14 strokes in back of Ordian with a three-day score of 79-77-76—232 (+16). She also placed 18th in the 2015 NCAA Championship.

Rhodes College took the team championship with a +40 score of 312-298-294—904.

With the conclusion of the NCAA Championship, Washington and Lee has now completed its 2015-16 season schedule.
