W&L Women's Golf Places Seventh at the Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate
DATAW ISLAND, S.C. – The Washington and Lee women's golf team finished seventh out of eight teams at the Taylor Made/Adidas Intercollegiate hosted by Ohio Wesleyan at the Morgan River Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Generals finished with a 398-393—791, while the University of Cumberlands was the team champion with a 322-331—653. Cumberlands' Liz Stephens was the individual medalist after shooting 80-80—160 (+16).
Sophomore Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) was the top W&L finisher in the event, posting a score of 91-92—183 to place in a tie for 23rd. Sophomores Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) and Lydia Barit (Paget, Bermuda / Middlesex School) both tied for 34th. Moir shot 103-99—202 and Barit carded a 102-100—202.
Sophomore Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) finished 36th and first-year Katelyn Degnan (Saint Petersburg, Fla. / Canterbury School) placed 37th to complete the Generals in the field. Kasica shot 102-104—206 and Degnan shot 108-102—210.
Washington and Lee returns to the links on March 24-25 when it takes part in the Randolph-Macon Invitational held at the Ashland Country Club.
