W&L Women's Golf Competes in Day 1 of the BC Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's golf team carded an opening round score of 368 and ranks second out of three teams after the first day of competition at the Bridgewater Fall Invitational held at the Lakeview Golf Golf Course on Sunday.

Randolph-Macon leads the Generals by 14 strokes after posting a 354 on Sunday.  Bridgewater is third with a 373, while Hollins' Elizabeth Cheng is the individual leader with a +3 score of 75.

W&L sophomore Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) currently ranks third out of 21 competitors with an 83.  Classmate Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) is sixth with an 87, while sophomore Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) is 16th with a 95.  First-year Katelyn Degnan (Saint Petersburg, Fla. / Canterbury School) rounded out the Generals in the field with a 103 that ranks 19th overall.

Tournament action continues on Monday with an 8:30 am start from Lakeview.
