W&L Women's Golf is in Third After Day 1 of ODAC's
CAPE CHARLES, Va. – Washington and Lee shot an opening round score of 402 on Monday and ranks third out of three teams in the inaugural Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championship held at the Bay Creek Resort.
Hollins is the team leader after the first day of competition, shooting a 369. Randolph-Macon is second with a 370, followed by the Generals in third. Bridgewater and Eastern Mennonite had several individuals competing, but not enough for team scores.
Hollins' Shelby Estes leads the individual portion of the event, shooting a +12 score of 85.
First-year Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) leads the Generals with an opening round 94 that is tied for sixth overall out of 17 competitors. First-year Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) is tied for eighth with a 95, while first-year Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) is 15th with a 104. First-year Lydia Barit (Paget, Bermuda / Middlesex School) carded a 109 and is 16th overall.
Action continues on Tuesday with the second and final round from Bay Creek.
