CLARKESVILLE, Ga. -- The Washington and Lee women's golf team was in action on Monday in the first day of competition at the Piedmont Spring Invitational held at The Orchard Golf & Country Club in Clarkesville, Ga.
Lee University leads the team portion of the event with an opening round 305, while Lee's Courtney Selton leads all 54 individuals, carding a 36-36--72.
For Washington and Lee, senior Claire Moryan (Westfield, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) and first-year Kara Kettlekamp (Skillman, N.J./Hun School) are leading the way, as both are tied for 49th-place. Moryan shot 50-55--105 and Kettlekamp carded a 53-52--105. First-year Elise Petracca (Manhasset, N.Y./Loomis Chaffee) is in 52nd-place after shooting 48-64--112.
Action continues on Tuesday with the second and final round of the tournament.
