Kendall Bear is in her second season as the assistant riding coach at Washington and Lee.
After joining the staff in February 2012, Bear helped guide the Generals to a fifth-place finish at the ODAC Championships, with two members being named First Team All-ODAC. In 2013, she helped guide the Generals to a second-place finish at the ODAC Championship as two team members were named to the All-ODAC First Team.
Prior to Lexington, Bear attended the University of Vermont, where she competed on the equestrian team her junior and senior years. She began riding at an early age, and competed regularly on the RIHA, MHJA and NEHC show circuits, winning her respective year-end equitation age division for seven consecutive years. In 2005, she transitioned to the jumper ring, and won the MHJA Child/Adult Jumper Finals that same year. After a brief hiatus, she joined the UVM Equestrian team, helping them win the Zone 1 Region 2 regional championship in 2009 and 2010, as well as winning the Individual Intermediate Flat Regional Championship in 2010. Bear joined the Colliers Creek/WLU team in February of 2012.
Bear graduated from the University of Vermont in 2010 with a degree in History and a minor in Studio Art.
