The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced its 2011 ODAC/StellarOne Bank Sportsmanship Teams in each of nine spring sports sponsored by the conference.

Mathews and Kurkis Highlight Major Award Winners at W&L
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 17 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior field hockey/lacrosse player Emmy Mathews (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) and senior football player Greg Kurkis (Roswell, Ga./Westminster), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee University has claimed the 2011 Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the eighth-straight year.

W&L's Morse Finishes Fourth at IHSA National Championships
Washington and Lee junior rider Tamara Morse (Bristow, Va./Brentsville) competed at the 2011 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) National Championships over the weekend, finishing fourth in the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)/Cacchione Cup competition held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky.

Numerous W&L Students Earn Winter Scholar-Athlete Awards
Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 173 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) recently announced its 2009-10 Academic All-State team. The team features 137 student-athletes across all NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and Independent schools in the Commonwealth.
